Ladies and Gentlemen

This topic is open for anybody who wants to practice the English grammar. It is well known
that people often overlook their errors in writing and a fresh eye of someone else may come in handy.

Looks as if we have a grammar wiz here. I have nothing to add to what Comma said.

Sorry guys for being absent for a while . Been busy with an assignment. Handed it in half an hour ago.

The assignment was huge, 2600 words. It was on managerial accounting. Grammar in this paper is not as important
as content and I did not really check it. I am going to post some pieces here particularly the ones that may be shaky
from grammar point of view.

Подождите, что то я совсем запуталась. Вспомнила что cлышала употребление как "a third reason " так и "the third reason ". Видимо всё таки наверное зависит от контекста, попробую шас поискать информацию.

докладываю, поговорил с двумя спецами. вообщем с ordinal numbers исползуются как the так и a.
the исползуется если есть определенная hierarchy этих самых ризонов. например, ризон первый, ризон второй и так далее.
другими словами имеется что то вроде order of importance ,или же речь идет именно об этом третьем ризоне.
если этой самой hierarchy нет,
а ризон всего лишь является еще одним, например третьим,
то должно быть a. в данном примере третий ризон не был специфически третьим, а был как бы еще одним.
вообщем спецы говорят здесь должно быть a .

It's clear,CoMMa , but that could explain not only the professionals. I have another question: why sometimes we need to put article and in the other cases we don't? And also it is interesting: is it necessary to put an article before the singular noun? If not, in which cases?
Plz., respond.

однако такой можно сказать глобальный вопрос подняла дорогая Нимфа-манка. я не могу дать исчерпывающий ответ ,
но если есть конкретный вопрос с примером, то проблем нет , думаю разберемся.
PS another thing to let you know. Remember that phrase " inspired with love for this forum"?. Your dictionary translates it as
"проникнутся любовью к". It just dawned on me that you could replace it by saying smth like "I have been filled with love for this forum".

как раз и означает "проникнутся любовью к", не следует переводить это как ""наполнился любовью к".

Sorry if I have disappointed you. To tell the truth I don't know a lot about grammar rules. The way I check articles I simply try to see if it sounds natural. It works pretty well, but not always. Sometimes mistakes yet creep in. Yes, it is good to know all rules by heart, but I think it is not feasible. Not much we can do about it but keep practicing.

Here is a small bit of my report. Please feel free to comment.
(I) Introduction

Standard Soap Corporation is a privately owned company that specializes in producing soaps and specialty chemicals.
Initially the focus was on producing specialty chemicals for the textile enterprises. The company pursued the low cost producer strategy
targeting customers with high volume orders. Its products were primarily used in manufacturing operations.
Collapse of the textile industry in the region caused the company to move its sales efforts to the new market segment.
It shifted from the low cost goods manufacturer to the product differentiator position (Figure 1). This strategic repositioning
allowed the company to enjoy rising sales and keep its production lines booked to capacity. However, those changes gave rise
to other issues such as the increased scale of operations and new expectations for performance. Product excellence
and superior appearance became a major concern. In the 1990’s it was evident that the company reached its threshold
in the capacity of the small enterprise. The management was losing control over operations because the traditional information
system was not providing accurate information. Also new product expectations and changes in customer base resulted in a more
complex job environment that current information system could not cope with effectively.
This report concentrates on analyses of the current situation, evaluates the implementation of ACMS and
considers the trade-offs between benefits and costs in implementing the new costing system. Also the report considers
some recommendations that would help to improve the overall performance of the company.

used.
Example:

Hint: use phrasal verbs and nouns.

Good try.
Here is the model answer:
The government is accused of a COVER UP of events.
There is no point of trying to COVER UP the mistake.

Some remarks. You probably meant "unfortunate series".
Also you've done the all hard work to find the right
phrasal verb and unfortunately didn't simply put it into
the first sentence. Bad luck, you wouldn't earn a full
mark, but you will get a half mark.
Keep on doing it.

sterner1 oops, sorry. I hadn't enough time yesturday, so I just read 1st sentence and decided to put "coming", but let me try once more ... the thing is : that in the 1st sentence I wanna input a noun and in the 2d I would fill in with a gerund (verb), gimme a hint plz.

даю русскую версию фраз:
1) Он почувствовал что холодный пот выступил на его лбу.
2) В тюрьме был еще один побег.

Фильм есть такой про побег из тюрмы, вспомните название на английском (Prison ......) и ответ готов.
